excel spreadsheets

work, specifically excel spreadsheets, continue to kick my ass on a daily basis at the job.

i am starting to get better and better at handling the workload, but there are days where i'm just amazed at how much i have to do and how little time i have to do it.

fortunately, i have understanding co-workers who are generally in the same boat i am in. my best interaction today was when i called a co-worker about a "bad news" e-mail we had both received and the conversation started like this:

co-worker: hello?
phil: *sigh*
co-worker: yeah, i know.

anyway, it's good to find the little things that keep you sane at work. sometimes, if you're really lucky, you find INSPIRATION.

for instance, artist danielle aubert clearly found inspiration in her inspiring work "58 days worth of drawing exercises in microsoft excel".

you know you want to click that shit and look at how awesome it is.

i plan on employing some of her techniques in my next spreadsheet. time to fancy things up!
