if i recall correctly, it was late at night and i had a nerf gun and was shooting it across the hall into the room across from ours.
the RA on duty walked by and yelled at me for shooting nerf darts across the hall and took my nerf dart.
i wrote her this letter:
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing you in regards to a dart that was taken from me on the evening of Thursday, October 29. At approximately 12:02, you came to our room with a concern about shooting a Nerf dart across the hall. Understanding your concern, I ceased my firing of the Nerf gun across the hall. However, one shot was made after you left that was aimed towards my television. Hearing the sound of the gun firing, I do believe you thought I was once again firing across the hall. This assumption is incorrect. The fact that you only found one dart in the hall simply verifies the fact that I could not have possibly fired into the hall a second time because you would have found two darts. I apologize for any confusion that ensued from this unfortunate event. However, I would appreciate it if you could return my dart. I believe that there should be consequences for actions, but since the event that you perceived happened truly did not happen, I believe that the taking of my dart was somewhat inappropriate. If you could please return it to me, I would be very grateful. I live at 1033 and you can feel free to slide it under my door at any time. Thank you for your understanding and I am sorry that this incident occurred. I assure you, it will not happen again.
Respectfully yours,
Phil
