the top five

my good friend and ichat confidante, brandi, is quite the entertaining distraction during the workday. she is in my small group of workday chatters that keep me entertained during the hours of 9am - 5pm. she was telling me about how her and the new dude she is seeing both gave each other their "top five hottest" lists.

"top five hottest" is a concept that is difficult for me. are we going strictly physical appearance? how does talent figure in? it's complicated. also, i'm always mindful of what my "top five hottest" says about me. i don't know, maybe you can chime in and tell me!

since brandi encouraged me to share mine, i am posting it here for the permanent record of the blog.

she's beautiful. she's a genius. she's also gotta be a little bit insane. plus, she's from iceland. aside from our significant age difference, i see absolutely no reason that we couldn't be soulmates.


#2: SCARLETT JOHANSSON

anything i would say here about her has already been said by everyone. gorgeous.


#3: CLAIRE FORLANI

claire forlani hasn't been in too many movies, but she absolutely kills me. she does this thing on screen where she looks like she's almost about to cry. it's her signature look. it makes me want to die inside. in the best way possible.


#4: LISA LOEB

this crush started when i was 15 and hasn't left me since. it's the glasses. MY GOD, THE GLASSES.


#5: KATE NASH

this is a recent crush that i threw in for good measure. if you sing, and you're british, and you wear cute retro thrifty clothes, sign me up for life.
