things are looking up.

i am feeling optimistic.

2008 was obviously a shit year for many reasons, mostly having to do with getting my face broken. but i thought the first part of 2009 would be a step in the right direction. and for the most part, it has been. it's just been slow-starting. things with work got off to a rough start with a lot of my close friends getting let go and having my role switched up on me.

i'm starting to develop a rhythm though. i'm figuring things out and i like that feeling.

on a lot of different fronts in my life, i feel like i'm making moves and setting myself up for some great things.

it's nice to focus on the positives.

here's just a few:

- my new record label now has its first band and i couldn't be happier about who it is. the website is in development and in the next few months, things are going to start happening. updates coming soon!

- i did some things recently at work that i was really proud of. things i wouldn't think i would feel accomplished about, but i really enjoy being able to start with an idea and be able to actually deliver awesome results.

- i am buying my first real piece of art from peter, which is something i've wanted to do for years now. that's not really an accomplishment, but it feels great to be supporting my friend and it's an amazing piece.

- i've been reading a TON of civil war books. i'm learning more by the day and i'm totally excited about this new history nerd stage of my life.

- i finally got back on my bike recently after months of hibernation over the winter and it feels so good. i envision a spring/summer of serious bike fun.

- kenny and i are DJing again after taking a little break. i'm super excited to get back into that because it is ridiculously fun.

- i got to see MORRISSEY seven blocks from my house and it was everything i could have hoped it to be.
