i hesitated posting this video, because i'm not sure if it translates to someone that doesn't know the band. it's a live performance, and it's not the best quality, but it's so fucking amazing to me. i don't know.. i hope it translates in some way that you might appreciate it.

only way to find out is to post it, i suppose.

i spent a month of my life touring with cody and his band as cities burn. it was one of the best months of my life and those dudes had a huge impact on me musically and personally. these guys struggled through so much as a band and had to deal with shit that olympia didn't come close to having to deal with, and they kept making amazing music. they put out one of my favorite records of the past few years and it was a total departure from their original sound, which they got a lot of shit for from dumb kids who didn't know any better.

i don't know what i'm trying to get at exactly. they're inspiring to me both as musicians and as individuals and i'm proud to call them friends. the fact that there are little hints and videos popping up of new unreleased material gets me really excited to know that they're still creating and writing.

this new song is so beautiful. it's hard to hear in the video, but i can imagine how amazing it's going to sound fleshed out in the studio.

anyway, just wanted to post it. i'm excited.
