good vs. bad.

good: i didn't get laid off today like i thought i would.

bad: a lot of people i work with and care about very much DID get laid off.



good: it's supposed to snow tomorrow. first snow of winter!

bad: i have to drive to work in it.



bad: i found out today that my mom had to get a biopsy and is waiting for results.

good: she is pretty sure it's going to be negative and i don't dare imagine it going any other way.



bad: i broke a rule i had set for myself today.

good: it felt really good.



good: caitlyn found out she got into her grad program today.

bad: i'm about to go out for celebratory drinks and get myself into trouble on a week night.



good: tonight is the last night i can say george bush is my president.

good: my beard is getting awesomer by the day.

good: i'm still alive.
